PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING

 

PROPOSED S. NICHOLSON AVENUE/S. PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE EXPANSION

(RAWSON AVENUE TO COLLEGE AVENUE)

 

CITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING – 2424 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee

WEDNESDAY, MAY 26, 2010 – 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

 

 

A Public Information Meeting (PIM) will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the City of South Milwaukee Administration Building, 2424 15th Avenue, for interested parties to become familiar with the proposed improvements to S. Nicholson Avenue/S. Pennsylvania Avenue between Rawson and College Avenues, located in the cities of South Milwaukee and Oak Creek.

 

The proposed project includes capacity expansion by reconstructing the existing 2-lane roadway to a 4-lane facility, with construction planned for 2012. Federal and State funding provides approximately 80% of the estimated $4.5 million design and construction costs, with Oak Creek and South Milwaukee each funding 10%.

 

The informational meeting will be “open house” format, and is being held to provide preliminary design information, to discuss proposed improvements and alternatives, and to gather your comments and concerns on the proposed project. The open house format meeting is flexible, so feel free to come and go as you desire.

PLEASE NOTE: There is the potential that a quorum of the Common Council may be present at this meeting. Upon reasonable notice, a good faith effort will be made to accommodate the needs of disabled individuals through sign language, interpreters or other auxiliary aid at no cost to the individual to participate in public meetings. Due to the difficulty in finding interpreters, requests should be made as far in advance as possible, preferably a minimum of 48 hours.
