Teen Fit Bootcamp, for children and teens, kicks off June 30th at Squeeze Studio Fitness

Squeeze Studio Fitness, a high-powered South Milwaukee fitness center, announces the launching of Teen Fit, the first exercise and nutrition boot camp created especially for children/teens ages 8-18 years old. The one-hour sessions kick off June 30th and will be held at Squeeze Studio Fitness at 1333 College Ave. Suite N, on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 am. The session will run until August 28th.

Teen Fit offers intensive training sessions to promote weight loss, build strength, and enhance participant’s self-esteem. The boot camp component is supplemented with customized nutrition plans, menu ideas, and education on ways to turn healthy habits into a long-term way of life. Teen Fit is perfect for kids or teens who want to get into shape, increase speed and strength for the upcoming sports season, or simply want to stay active over the summer while making new friends.

Shannon Carney, the owner of Squeeze Studio Fitness, was inspired to create Teen Fit after seeing the amazing change in a young client who came to Squeeze with his mom.

“Teen Fit was the idea of one of my members, Kyle, who is 15 years old,” said Carney. “He saw his mom working out and couldn't believe how hard she was working. I told him to give it a try. Soon he began to come three to four times a week with his mom, and he lost over 30 pounds in three months.”

Carney herself knows the power of exercise and fitness to transform lives. With a college degree in molecular biology and chemistry, Carney has always been fascinated by human anatomy. After training for a fitness competition in 2006 and experiencing a dramatic change in her health and body as a result, Carney left her job as a high school teacher to begin working as a personal trainer to help others feel and look better, too. She opened Squeeze Studio Fitness in 2008 and has since experienced tremendous growth. In just one year, Carney went from being the sole trainer with 25 clients to now serving a membership of 200 with nine trainers. Her training staff includes doctors, an acupuncturist, a martial arts specialist, an iron man competitor, and a breast cancer survivor.

“In the same way that I was inspired by my own transformation to help others, so was Kyle,” said Carney. “He wanted to reach out to other kids who needed help losing weight and didn't know where to start. So we decided to team up, and Teen Fit Bootcamp was born.”

On Tuesdays during the bootcamp, Teen Fit participants are encouraged to stick around and bring a lunch so they can hear from Kyle as he shares his experiences, fitness tips, and the motivational ideas that have helped him achieve greater health. Teen Fit is open to all children ages 8-18 years old. Scholarship programs may be available for the 20-week summer session. Additional sessions will be offered in the winter.

The mission of Squeeze Studio Fitness is to enhance personal health and fitness using education, experience, and a commitment to lifestyle excellence. Squeeze offers a wide variety of classes as well as personal and group training.
