South Milwaukee, which last appeared in the playoffs in 1998, looked like a seasoned tournament team early in a Division 2 playoff game against Bradley Tech Tuesday night as the high school football playoffs kicked off around the state.
The rock says it all. It sits in front of South Milwaukee High School and was painted red with white letters by the boys soccer team. One side reads: Soccer 11-0 conference champs. The name of third-year head coach Chris Knepper is on the other side.
The rivalry has returned. South Milwaukee beat Cudahy, 22-21, by scoring two touchdowns in the final quarter in a non-conference game Friday night.
