South Shore police report: August 14, 2014 issue

 Two bicycles with combined value of $1,000 were stolen from an unlocked garage in the 3500 block of East Cudahy Avenue between 6 and 11:20 p.m. July 28.




 Prescription medication was stolen from a home’s mailbox in the 2700 block of East Grange Avenue between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. July 17.


 A 50-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft after taking two bottles of whiskey, with combined value of $42, from Pick ’n Save, 5851 S. Packard Ave., at 6:50 p.m. Aug. 1. The woman told police “she was supposed to buy them for her son’s birthday party but lost the money at Potawotami casino.”


 Two unidentified teenage girls stole two teddy bears, valued at $1.25 each, from the Sweet Apple Wood Days game tent in Patrick Cudahy Park, 3000 E. Ramsey Ave., at about 5 a.m. Aug. 2.




 A 51-year-old man was arrested at 2:07 p.m. Aug. 2 for battery after allegedly punching his 80-year-old mother in the 3300 block of East Morris Avenue. Police administered a breath test on the man. It registered a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.41.


Drug possession


 Two Cudahy men, ages 22 and 35, and a 19-year-old St. Francis man were cited for disorderly conduct after an altercation at 1:21 a.m. July 20 in the 3600 block of East Underwood Avenue. The 35-year-old and the St. Francis man were also cited for marijuana possession.


 A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for marijuana possession after a traffic stop in the 5900 block of South Packard Avenue at 10:57 p.m. July 26.




 A rock was thrown through a window at Sam’s Auto Sales, 5800 S. Packard Ave., overnight Aug. 1-2. Damage was estimated at $500.


 A 27-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after he smashed a mailbox and threatened to set his house on fire during a quarrel with his 18-year-old sister in the 2800 block of East Holmes Avenue at 11:12 p.m. Aug. 6.






 A 29-year-old St. Francis woman is under investigation for forgery stemming from an incident July 18, when a Cudahy man reported his checkbook was stolen while he shopped at Pick ’n Save, 4698 S. Whitnall Ave. According to police reports, the woman has pending forgery cases in Cudahy, Franklin, Milwaukee and South Milwaukee. Her “modus operandi is to break into vehicles with her boyfriend and steal credit cards and/or checkbooks (then) make unauthorized purchases or withdraw money.”


 An unidentified male stole a plastic table, two plastic folding chairs, a sledgehammer and tent stakes from a loading dock outside Greg’s True Value, 3050 E. Layton Ave., prior to 10:33 a.m. Aug. 6. The items were valued at $130.


 A bicycle valued at $100 was stolen from a yard in the 2500 block of East Bolivar Avenue overnight Aug. 6-7.


Drunken driving


 A 54-year-old St. Francis man was cited for operating while intoxicated at 11:15 p.m. Aug. 1 after he was in a rollover accident at the intersection of South Kinnickinnic and East Koenig avenues. He has three previous OWI convictions.




 A car was scratched in the parking lot outside an apartment in the 3700 block of South Packard Avenue between Aug. 2 and 4. Damage was estimated at $1,000.





 An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for shoplifting at 8:52 p.m. July 29 after taking a T-shirt and a bag of candy from Walmart, 222 N. Chicago Ave.




 A 32-year-old woman was cited for domestic violence battery after an incident in the 1000 block of Rawson Avenue at 7:57 p.m. July 26. According to police reports, she hit her 31-year-old boyfriend with a cane during an argument.


Drunken driving


 A 32-year-old South Milwaukee woman was cited for operating while intoxicated at 11:28 p.m. July 25 after she struck a parked car in the 1600 block of Mackinac Avenue. A breath test indicated a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.15.


 A 45-year-old South Milwaukee woman was cited for operating while intoxicated at 7:56 p.m. July 28 after she struck a parked car in the 3200 block of Fifth Avenue.


 A 31-year-old Cudahy man was cited for operating while intoxicated at 7:54 p.m. Aug. 2 along Grant Park Drive. A breath test indicated a preliminary BAC of 0.11.


 A 47-year-old South Milwaukee man was cited for operating while intoxicated at 2:34 a.m. Aug. 3 in the 800 block of Carrington Avenue. A breath test indicated a preliminary BAC of 0.09.




 Four Milwaukee residents and a 17-year-old Wauwatosa woman were cited for being in Grant Park after hours at 3:01 a.m. July 25. Arresting officers found less than one gram of marijuana. The Milwaukee residents were two 21-year-old men, an 18-year-old woman and a 16-year-old woman.


 A 23-year-old woman was cited for disorderly conduct at 2:45 p.m. Aug. 7 after she confronted and cursed a neighbor in the 1200 block of 17th Avenue. According to police reports, the 23-year-old was angry because she believed the neighbor had called police regarding a domestic disturbance.


 Police responded to four domestic violence incidents between Aug. 1 and 7.
