Fall activities at the South Milwaukee Public Library
Story time began on Tuesday, September 6 at 10:30am. There is still time to register. Call 768-8195, ext 13. Hear some great stories, do crafts and play games.,
If your child is hesitant about reading aloud or in front of peers, you should sign your child up to read to Brett, the therapy dog. Brett loves to listen to children read to him. He is a 7 year old Flat Coat Retriever. Children K-5th grade can sign up for a 15 minute session with Brett on Tuesdays from 5:00 - 6:15 PM The sessions are on Tuesday, September 27, October 11 (Wednesday), October 26, Tuesdays November 8, 22 and December 6. Children are encouraged to bring along their favorite book or choose one from the library.
The Friends of the Library fall book sale will be held on Saturday, September 10th from 9:30 am to 3 pm. Great bargains. Tons of childrens books, VHS tapes, large print books, novels and much more. Prices range from 10 cents to $5. Most items are 50 cents. The next Monday morning book sale will be held on October 3 from 9:30-11.
The South Milwukee Public Library Foundation will be holding their annual wine tasting and silent auction on Thursday, October 13th from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. This year wines from Wisconsin will be featured. There wil be cheese and susage to snack on and music by the Garlic Mustard Pickers. The silent auction items will be on display on the first floor from Friday, September 30th to 4 pm on Saturday, October 15th. Successful bidders will be notified on Monday, October 17th. Lots of great items. Do you Christmas shopping early and support the library activities. All donations are tax deductible. Donations for the silent auction are appreciated.
The Library will be holding their annual Halloween family night at the library on Tuesday, October 25 from 6 pm to 7:45 pm. Gerard the Magician will enterain the children and adults alike. There will be crafts and refreshments. Adults and children alike are encouraged to wear custumes
Did you know that you may make a donation to the library to purchase books or other materials in the memory of a person, or to celebrate a special occasion. Donations start at $25. A special bookplate is placed in the item that is purchased noting the donor's name.
