Priorities for Cudahy Mayor Tony Day

Cudahy, Development, Mayor, Tony Day

I know Mayor Day already knows that “Development” in Cudahy is the key issue.  And it is sad that Cudahy has an Economic development team with a full time Director of Economic Development that was misused and misguided.  As I keep getting asked, how and why was precious time and resources taken away from this team for School and Mayoral “PR” stories and why was the valuable Director of Economic Development asked to take time away from her job to help work on an Employee Manual when one of the Alderpersons full time job is HR?  The only answers I have received have been, you do what the Mayor asks and if you aren’t in the clique or on good graces with the Mayor polices and wants, not much will be asked of you.

Open Carry in Cudahy

Cudahy, Wisconsin, Police, Policy, Guns

Wisconsin is no stranger to the right to bear arms.  Article I, Section 25 of our own State Constitution provides:

The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation or any other lawful purpose.

Despite this right,
Wisconsin is one of only two states that completely prohibit anyone but police officers and sheriffs' deputies from carrying concealed weapons for self defense. Colorado, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, and other states all recently passed shall-issue concealed carry bills.

I’ve picked apart the “Your Stories” article titled ‘Remember the Past before Voting for the Future’ from CudahyNow, as it is a fountain of misinformation and an attempt to discredit Tony Day and puff up Mayor McCue without uttering his name.  It is bending the reality curve upward past the breaking point in attempting to make lies turn into truths.  It is full of half-truths and fabrications.  You have to ask yourself why someone would twist the truth when convenient.  However, this question is largely political and I expect many people don't want their political agenda disturbed by facts.

The Rest of the Info

Last spring the business owners asked about getting the parking lines painted.  We were told no because the street didn’t have the final coat of asphalt.  The City said by August 2009.  The street is still not finished but the City of Cudahy has already paid the contractors.  Since learning that the contractors have been paid”a long time ago” this means we have been lied to all summer and fall.  Now we have an unfinished street that was paid for already, and I can hardly wait for the creative accounting to cover the cost of finishing the street with all it’s other problems.

This is Mr. Vaccaro's question from the Cudahy Wisconsin Common Council meeting on Tuesday September 15th 2009 on the subject of funds from the CBGR that were moved to the Kohl's project in escrowed money instead of using the CBGR to complete the ADA (the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990) bathroom to bring it up to ADA code.

I have a previous engagement I need to be at so I wish I could attend.  I would like someone to ask about the new high school entrance and how Lake Dr. will be affected by this, since vehicles can enter from the north and south and when exiting the vehicles can go either left or right.  If my thinking is correct there will be a backup somewhere.  There will be several situations, kids getting out of the car on Lake Dr. because it takes so long to turn in, people that commute to work, etc.  How is this going to be handled in the morning and in the afternoon?
