If you have small children, I love New to You Kids on 74th Street in Greenfield near Southridge. Its gently used childrens clothes store. Its all name brand and some of the items still have the original tags on them! I found my toddler a brand new winter coat and snow pants for under $20! Its a great place!

my favorite has always been value village (Packard Ave, St Francis). they have a rapidly rotating supply of furniture, as well as the usual thrift store stock of tshirts, toys, etc. the best thing about the value is that they rotate "half price" days. one day, clothes are half price. the next, everything but clothes is half price, and the day after that, everything in the store is half price; i cannot recall a single time i went to the value and it wasn't a half-price day.

That said, of course some things are worn, or just not the quality you would want, but the value definitely has a lot of diamonds in the rough!
