The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

Can't Open The File Attachment

Computer, Email, Cudahy, Info, Tips

While at the Neighborhood Watch last month, a few people said they could not open the Word Document or Excel Spreadsheet for the crime stats.  This was puzzling because they could open the ones before.

I pointed out the city might have started to use a new version of Microsoft Office and there is an update available for this free from Microsoft.  A few others pointed out that they could never open the attachments as it states they don’t have a program to open the file with.  I also pointed out that Microsoft offers free Readers/Viewer that allows you to read the document and print it.

At tonight’s Neighborhood Watch, I brought in some printouts with information from Microsoft on the update and readers.  A few people asked me if I could just post the links to the downloads on my blog.

For those with Microsoft Office prior to Office 2007 you can download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats.

Download Link Here

It is 27.5 MB so if you are using a dialup connection it will take a little bit.

If you don’t already have Microsoft Office you can download the readers.

Word 2007 Reader/Viewer – Download Link Here

Excel 2007 Reader/Viewer – Download Link Here

Powerpoint 2007 Reader/Viewer – Download Link Here

The 2007 Reader/Viewers will read older versions of their same products.
