2ND UPDATE: What's heaven like? Ask 11-year old Colton Burpo

Previously on This Just In…

The update…

During my hip surgery recovery I read “Heaven is for Real.”

From the book:

“Speaking of Colton’s experience in heaven, people have said to us, ‘Your family is so blessed’.”

Also:

“Sometimes people ask, ‘Why Colton?’ The best we can do is tell you what happened to us, and hope that you find it encouraging.”

And then there’s the unthinkable. An editorial in the newspaper from the small town in Nebraska where the Burpo family lives reports this week:

"The notoriety brings a heavy cross to bear upon the Burpos. Their story has been sliced and diced on Internet blogs and postings. They must travel with security to insure their safety at speaking events. They still have to put up with ridicule and jealousy of their success in their own home town. To me, that’s sad."

Again, from the Burpo book:

“As a pastor, I was always comfortable talking about my faith, but now, in addition, I talk about what happened to my son. It’s the truth and I talk about it, no apologies.”
