Family lured Jerrianne and her husband to South Milwaukee in 2002 from Southern California where she worked as, first, a journalist, then, as a court information officer. She now stays busy with media-relations consulting, playing with her three grandchildren (part of the lure), writing, discovering her new environs, and hoping her garden will produce before the first fall frost.
Tuesday, April 1, is election day. Please don't forget to vote.
I'm casting mine for Erik Brooks for South Milwaukee mayor.
Erik, as Common Council member who for several years has represented the district I live in, is an engaged public official who is consistently responsive to his constituients, in my experience.
He is energetic, has ideas and has been a positive force for South Milwaukee.
He is a founder of the South Milwaukee Farmers Market and, with his South Milwaukee blog, is the sole news source for this city.
With Erik's leadership, South Milwaukee has an opportunity for economic revitalization and civic improvement.
I hope South Milwaukeeans will join with me in voting for and helping to elect Erik our new mayor.
