I’m not a big fan of high school football starting a weekend before Labor Day weekend. People are on vacation, school's not in session meaning attendance is down. But that’s what we’ve got with a whole schedule of games beginning Thursday night.
Here in Franklin we might have the best high school QB in the state in Sean McGuire (above) along with 30, count ‘em, 30 seniors returning.
Still, the so-called experts seem to favor Oak Creek or Racine Horlick in the Southeast Conference.
Seems Franklin will have little trouble lighting up the scoreboard. Let’s stop some folks on defense and late October/early November could be interesting.
The opening game against Sussex Hamilton is a toughie. Here's the entire schedule.
